October 6, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Tucson Maccabees as a new member.

Based in Tucson, AZ, Tucson Maccabees will begin UPSL play with the 2020 Fall Season as part of the Southwest Conference Arizona Division. The club will host its UPSL home games at Naranja Park (810 W. Naranha Dr., Oro Valley, AZ 85737).

UPSL Arizona Division Manager Mike Miller said, "We are excited to welcome Tucson Maccabees to the Arizona DIvision. There are more clubs playing in UPSL Arizona than ever before and we're adding another quality club in the Maccabees. This is a strong group and we wish them success as they begin their journey in the UPSL."

Ed Rizzo is Business Operations Manager for Tucson Maccabees. Matt Flores is General Manager and Assistant Coach. Jason Flores is Player Operations Manager. Meir Segal currently serves as Head Coach.

"There is a real shortage of opportunities in Arizona for players after high school. Arizona is home to a just a single NCAA Division I program (Grand Canyon University) and so Tucson Maccabees was started to allow Arizona players to compete at a high level while attending our affordable in-state universities," Rizzo said. "In the wake of Covid, with all fall soccer being postponed, there is a bigger void for young local players. We are attempting to close this gap and give these players an opportunity to compete."

Tucson Maccabees hosts SC Del Sol in the club's UPSL's debut on Sunday, October 18 at Naranja Park. Admission is limited.
